A battered dining set rescued from water damage, warping, cupping and staining

Remove the old finish and wash with acetone to get the wax deposits out

Once all surfaces are prepared, three coats of Fiddes hardwax are applied to all surfaces to get a smooth, consistent natural sheen. The top required planing, sanding and colouring to counter the pale tone left after a considerable amount has been removed to correct the cupping and bowing. Some new wedges are made to strengthen the frame along with a hidden pair of coach screws/bolts.
