This globe is in perfect state, the only problem being the leg which was completely destroyed and replaced by random bits assembled together.
The only way to restore this was by turning a brand new leg, which was done out of sapele timber.
The new leg was done in two parts: first the vertical spindle, then the base. It was then sanded and waxed to a brilliant and shiny finish.
