We were brought a very pretty miniature Chinese cabinet with bold floral and bird motifs, which needed some repairs as well as a deep clean and finish. The copper hinges were broken, the drawers needed regluing and one door was dismantled.
We started by recreating new hinges and the original leaves were rivetted on top.
We reglued the doors and fitted them back on the carcass with the freshly repaired hinges.
After regluing the drawers and giving the surface a thorough clean, we applied a few coats of shellac to bring it back to its former glory.
